In the chemical industry evaporation is widely used to concentrate aqueous solutions of alkalis and salts and also high-boiling liquids, which, like solids, have a low vapor pressure. A wide application of evaporation has been obtained in the food, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical and non-ferrous metallurgy industries. Also, recently, vacuum evaporators have been widely used to create industrial water purification and water treatment systems.
